My joy for this week—a visit from Carmen! We’ve been friends for more than five years, coworkers at the Isolation Journals for more than three, and at this point, it feels like we’re sisters. People warn you against working with friends, and it’s not without its challenges, of course—but ours has been the greatest, most joyous collaboration. Carmen pours so much love and thoughtfulness into making this community as rich and loving and expansive as it can be, and work often doesn’t feel like work when we’re together.
