Today I saw three angels in my mind helping a wet butterfly. It's raining in New Orleans. The angels are busy today.

My journal today is wet and the topic is Angels and Butterflies, which I used to call flutter bys whien I was a child. I checked the etymology of butterfly. I learn something new every day. This is so much fun. Let's all watch the butterflies flutter by even if they are wet while we ponder the age old question: Is a picture worth a thousand words? Sometimes.

I am also in New Orleans and have suggested to friends that we may want to rebrand ourselves as a country of Scotland since our weather has been so grey and rainy for this entire summer!! Lol.

Ahhh...the "I feel like doo doo on a pungy stick" journal entry. Some of (what I consider to be) my best "stuff" has come at those moments. It was so fun to note the completly different styles of you Suleika and of Liana in terms of journaling. I have a tendency to write on scraps of paper, sticky notes that are sticking to nothing and it brings me joy when I find them, shoved in a book, in a stack of papers that long ago needed to be filed etc...I think of them as my Leaflets of Love, scattered where ever the wind has taken them (which is actually just me, as the wind).

I agree 100%.

So often Life indeed like a cartoon.

I love your wet butterfly!

Perhaps I'll write a poem about her...

Thanks for your inspiration, Liana.

And reminder that our creative quest is to discover who and where we are at any given moment. And know the answer is ever changing...

Love this. I am also consistently inconsistent with my writing, so big thanks for this one. And yet I have completed 41 days in a row of journaling in response to The Book of Alchemy prompts, proving (to myself) that inconsistency is no excuse. Onward.

I have yet to put pen to paper in response to any of the three prompts that I have read in these Summer journaling postings, but as I work in the garden, I do think about why, when and how I approach my own journaling practice. And, that in itself is an exploration of self and purpose. That to me is what journaling is all about. Thank you.

I love the idea that journaling can take on any form and follow whatever direction the mind wants to travel at the moment of expression. The possibility of surprise and wonder is always present.

I love creating in any form and this idea of drawing in my notebook/journal whenever I feel like it feels even more freeing than, well, freewriting. Thanks for giving permission to, well, doodle! How fun!

Thank you for sharing Liana's story and process today, Suleika. I discovered The Book of Alchemy listening to an interview you did with Dan Harris and his wife, Bianca. I love this collection of mini-essays and prompts! It has brought much joy and writing back into my life. Thank you for this gift!

I've always been kinda compulsive with my journaling and it's all over the place that really only makes sense to me.

I appreciate the ”permission” to take a break. Grazie!

My latest set up;I’ll jot down the thought that keeps repeating in my mind and then begin with that. today’s was “Your presence is the present.” I wrote several pages about my friend’s 70th birthday celebration at “Drag Bingo.” Local venue called “Tumbleroot” hosts this recurring, hilarious, joyful event. It was the 1st time for me. Sponsored by Santa Fe Human Alliance.

I loved Liana's illustrations - whimsical, full of energy. Her prompt in The Book of Alchemy made me write about fire ants and how I give them a wide berth.

I love your drawings. I’ve been staging about writing or drawing for a while. I have started taking pictures of the pollinators again. Then I put albums together on the computer. I saw a beautiful dragonfly in the meadow when I walked the dogs. I managed to get some pictures with my phone. It looked like it was posing. It knew it was gorgeous. It had tiger colors and stripes. It reminded me of a new virgin journey I found at TJ Maxx. It had the front of a tiger on the front and the tail of the tiger in the back. I think I’ll use this journey; for empowerment thoughts and ideas.

Thank you for the prompt and thoughts. Good day everyone.

Yes, the wet butterfly I feel that way now in my life and so lazy punctuation grammar seems like a class I didn’t do well in. Actually, the drawings are very funny and in my own journals. I love to put a little drawing of some thing to express a feeling that might be flying about in my brain a drawing cements the emotion without the words but as a friend, once said, words are birds, he was conga player and I’m not sure if he said that because he didn’t believe people or that he just said it and then went back. and continue playing his Conga

apologize for the nonsense I bring this morning love the prompt and the Moroccans happy birthday Suleika

Thank you for this - a lot of it resonates. I too was(/am) a creature of routine now living in the season of caregiving for small children. I really appreciate the grace you've given yourself during this time. I also REALLY appreciate the curiosity in wondering what your drawings will look like when you come back. I just read the beginning of chapter 3 in The Book of Alchemy, where suleika, you share the Liz G quote about just needing to be a tiny bit more curious or scared. Shifting from anxious to curious feels so attainable. Thank you to you both!
