What is Journaling Club (virtual edition)?
One Sunday in October 2020, seven months into the stay-at-home phase of the pandemic, we held our first virtual gathering for paid subscribers of the Isolation Journals. The idea was to reimagine a Zoom meeting as a virtual coffee shop where we could gather and write and draw energy from one another. A little inspiration, connection, and accountability too.
Over the years, the name (formerly the Hatch) and format has changed a little but the essence is the same. We gather on Zoom to read a little something, write a little something, and talk about what came up. It’s a warm, welcoming space where we show up as we are, meditate on life’s big questions, and leave transformed.
When does it happen?
Journaling Club is usually scheduled for the third Sunday of the month from 1-2pm ET. However, some months we have to shift it due to holidays or other scheduling conflicts. We announce each month’s date in the Sunday newsletter as soon as it’s confirmed.
How do I join?
Journaling Club meets on Zoom—we send out the link the Saturday before. If you miss the email with the Zoom link, you can go to theisolationjournals.substack.com and find it under the section Journaling Club. We also include it at the bottom of this post.
Where do I find the readings and prompts?
We put together a post of readings and prompts for the event, called “Notes from Journaling Club.” We publish it about an hour before the event begins; you can find it under the section Journaling Club. We also send it out via our Isolation Journals chat.
What if I can’t attend live? Can I watch a replay?
Yes! We record the event, then upload it to the “Notes from Journaling Club” post for that gathering within a week of the event. You can find it on theisolationjournals.substack.com under Journaling Club.
I’m a paid subscriber, but I can’t access the post.
