I have been listening to Jon's Beethoven Blues every day several times a day for the past 2 months. My mom always played Für Elise and Moonlight Sonata he me since I was a little girl. Listening to him play has helped heal my heart and make me feel close to her.
Thank you Jon for your gift of music and helping me heal.
I miss you mom and I hope you are listening in heaven. ❤️
I was awake but still in bed when I read this and listened. I closed my eyes, curious and open to experience. I saw the sea, the little foamy waves crawling up the sand. Some foam leaving upwards, blowing in the wind. Quiet happy feeling, deeply touching, tranquility. Rhythmical nourishment.
Thank goodness! I was tempted to call in “fake sick” to work. The only other time I did that was when the MJ “Thriller” video premiered on MTV in 1983.
The "Rests," the intentional pauses leaving the space to want more...ahhhhhh. I took piano lessons as a child, and my teacher, Miss Fauxteu always had us play "the classics." I wanted to play Boogie Boogie, but she said, "Everything starts with the placement of the Rest and you learn that with the classics." I had no idea what she meant. I could not read music and played by ear, memorizing what I heard. My mathmatical interior was empty and I know she knew I could not read the notes...but she never said anything. She always smiled, and (I found out many years later) told my mom, "She has the most natural sense of rhythm any and all of my students have ever had." Thank you, Mr. Batiste for the evolution, the pause, the trills, the final note, leaving us wanting more.
I was moved and inspired by Jon's experience and insight on music and how things can change while a core can remain. I am a long time serious student of Hindustani classical music. My mentor, teacher and dearest friend Rajeev Taranath, who was a top exponent of the sarod and a disciple of the legendary Ali Akbar Khan spoke on this eloquently and would have had such an affinity with Jon's deep.observations. And these made meaningul coming from a searching musician's experience. Both patience and an intensity are needed to inspire sincere evolution in an artform.

Hello All. I love from Jon" I reimagined Mozart “black” in the tradition of Mr. Batiste, imbuing it with influences from jazz, rags, stride, blues, stomps but still maintaining its core essence of modern classical music. Like my last album in this series, Beethoven Blues, this is a conversation without words, not about genre but about commonality, improvisation, expression, and innocence, in that spiritual realm where M really lives." From Beethoven's Blues to now Black Mozart is beautiful. My husband and I listen to this over and over again and look forward to the full release. Grateful for you both. We are torn for today. My husband is from Germany and the whole world cup from FIFA and the US government is more than I will write. And both of us love football. And today Germany plays Curaçao. If we do not make it I will look forward to the recording. And peace to all of you
I just listened to Alla Blues it’s morning here early I guess. I know this melody my heart knows and loves so many things it doesn’t know it knows. I drink it in heals my sometimes lamenting soul! Bless you keep sharing your talent and wonder ❤️
I’m listening … walking in a dark forest … and suddenly, gently, I come into the light. I breathe, I sigh, I hear the familiar melody …. And then the melody becomes wrapped in new clothes… so delicate, intricate it keeps my awareness leaning closer and deeper.
It is as if Mozart has returned to us and made a new album based on his old work. Just lovely. My father played Mozart over and over again on Sunday mornings. Thank you for sharing this, Jon!
The music takes you on a journey. From a walk down a cobblestone street to a place where you go ahhh! I recognize the tune and you continue to trip down the street tapping, skipping on the toes of this dreamy melody, wanting to perhaps add some words. But what words could match the cadence of the keys, twisting into the sky? A clarion call to look up, look up at the sky.

Will the journaling club with Jon be recorded and available for members who can't come when it is live?
Yes! We’ll send out a video replay for those who can’t make it live ♥️

I love that anecdote!! ❤️ Music is just such a gift.
Thank you so much.
I love hearing the voice of Mozart and Jon in the same piece of music. So beautiful and transformative.

For me it was my mother, a pianist and piano teacher. She loved Mozart. I hope she is listening from heaven.
I am absorbing “Alla Blues” from the “consistent core of my being.” I am a 4(1+3) - me and the trinity. I am on the plane of communion.
