“Threads” sounds great. I love the title “Threads” as we weave the tapestry of our journey together. This is like a coffee-less coffee shop; a gathering, sharing place. Thanks for your foresight in creating this space.
During the time from my diagnosis to being done with my radiation treatments, I made pair after pair of beaded earrings. It was something I did for lots of days during 7 months. I seemed to need putting my attention on something outside of myself, which needed mindfulness. In all, I probably topped 30 pairs! I made them, using #11 Delicas, which are lovely, tiny Japanese beads, made exquisitely, and which are a delight to work with. Suleika, your perseverance inspired and sustained me in a peaceful quiet way. Thank you.
Well duh! I do that every day as a practice, and thought I had so tried the uninstall/reinstall. Just swiped up and now I see the Thread! Thanks very much.
Thank you for your guidance. I think I have it working via my iphone13 instead of my iPad which is older. I hope I am installed and have access to the ongoing conversations on “Threads”.
Thank you for this space! As the summer wanes and days get shorter, I’m finding myself reaching for anchors to stabilize me during the changing days. It is nice to imagine having this as a regular check in point, but also as a place of direction towards new paths. With what energy you have, you sure do incredible things ❤️
Hi everyone, victoria here from LA. Single, 65 , artist and art therapist and loving mother to a lab mix pup. Love collage, mandalas and reading memoirs. Reading Viola Davis’ book right now. Also, have lived with a chronic illness for over 40 years.
I love what I have read so far. I see and feel the large field of grace we all come from. May this energy keep us well and safe and in full alignment with the good in our world. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and making this special place available to us. ♥️
Ditto. I’m eager to join, and I already use the Substack app and I do not see the icon. I’m eager to try it for my newsletter, since I host a monthly meetup for paid subscribers on Zoom and it’d be nice to have an in-house chat tool rather than using Zoom. So glad you’re back from your break--thank you!
I did that - deleted app and then tried to reinstall but it won't reinstall at moment. So perha;s substack is having a "moment". There are a lot of ISJ members no doubt trying to install then reinstall at once. I will give it 24 hours.

Anne Lamott talks about this in her book Stitches.

Looking forward to it- don’t see the icon yet on my iOS app, but will keep an eye out!
Hi Lori! You might want to make sure the app is fully updated to the latest version. Then force quit and reopen the app and see if the tab appears.
No tab appears after force quitting and reinstalling.
Same here.
Force quitting isn't deleting/reinstalling, it's the swipe: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201330
We can look into any issues from our side too!

Mine was at the bottom of my screen
Thanks, Jasmine - I just added the app yesterday, and when I go into the app store there doesn't seem to be another version, but I'll try that!
Same!
Hi everyone!! Very happy for a private space. Thanks to Suleika, Carmen, and holly for creating it!
I downloaded the App but like others are saying I have not seen a double bubble, unless this is it.
Threads - love the idea. Hope my tech skills will make this work. I hate to miss even a minute of it.
Hmm if you just downloaded you should be on the latest version. Do you want to try force quitting + restarting the app?
I don’t know how to try “force quitting”. I not tech savvy. If I am on this “thread” then maybe I am on it as a paid subscriber.
Hi Pat! I think I figured it out!
Here's some instructions on how to do it! Very easy :) https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201330

I tried to force quit using the instructions for iPhone SE but it didn’t work; I’m doing something wrong I believe.
This feels like a cozy and wonderfully safe space to talk and share.
Thread
Here, take this thread.
Consider it, caress it
Run it through your fingers
Taste its color, feel how smooth
If you finally wish
Thread it through your single eye,
Hand me back the end
and I will do the same.
This back and forth will weave a world
We can do this
This mystic stitch, this slender line that runs
from me to you and back again
We live along its length
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

Be well.

Summer greetings from Vermont to you all! Thank you, dear Suleika, for creating the loom where we can weave our life threads together. ❤️
Suleika, this quiet poem brings you to mind.
Song of Myself, 1 [I Celebrate myself]
Walt Whitman - 1819-1892
I Celebrate myself, and sing myself,
And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
I loafe and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.
My tongue, every atom of my blood, form'd from this soil, this air,
Born here of parents born here from parents the same, and their parents the same,
I, now thirty-seven years old in perfect health begin,
Hoping to cease not till death.
Creeds and schools in abeyance,
Retiring back a while sufficed at what they are, but never forgotten,
I harbor for good or bad, I permit to speak at every hazard,
Nature without check with original energy.
All the love on this Summery Day,
Marcy B!
Very excited. Glad to know that I am not the only one who doesn’t see the double bubble.
Right. No double bubble yet...but lots of interest. Also, where’s your message?
Mine was a single bubble at the bottom of my screen.
The chat bubble symbol is at the bottom if you’re on the app on an iPhone
Thanks for making this available. I’m so eager to read and learn from others.
Me too - no double icon for threads. Guess that is why its beta.
