What a moving interview. I can't wait to read Jedidiah's books, which I have just ordered. I relate to so much of this. I left the US in 2006 and haven't been back except for brief visits and feel I am still on an odyssey that may not actually have an ending point. I wonder if there are rites of passage that go on and on? Can a person live always in the passage? I dwell in a permanent inbetweenland and have a terror of staying in one place, which might be worth examining at some point...
