Ahh, when you wake up early and find a gift in your mailbox. Watching it now. Love getting to know your mum now too. You share your sense of style and wordsmithing. In a sea of noise, it is wonderful to listen to the beautiful melody of your reflections. Nice to meet you too Carmen!

In the wee hours of this morning what a warm and encouraging message you share. On 'this' day it feels like an early morning life raft, just enough if not a little more. For those of us who are sensitive to and 'hard wired' to the the secret code of 'navigating health challenges' we know how encouraging and healing this message is today. Breathe~ Tender mercies to all~

What a gift this morning! Thank you Suleika! My goal today was to spend some time creating and immersing myself in art. Thank you for this beautiful intro for my day. While I have surrounded myself with art over the years, it hasn’t been until this past year and facing my cancer journey, that I have started to be creative myself. Thank you for continuing to be a catalyst for that. Seeing you in American Symphony was transformative. There were many layers to that story that touched me, from simple things like seeing you pull up the hood of your sweatshirt when you were in for your BMT (something I did so often through chemo- both because I was cold, but also because I wanted to hide away), to the process of BMT something my husband trained to do, but that I only knew about in theory, to seeing Jon navigate all of his pressures and be so open to showing others what a healthy and beneficial support speaking to a therapist can be, especially as a man (something my brother was struggling to do at the time). There were many references in that film to you wanting to change the world. Well, mission accomplished- you’ve changed my world and I know you have changed the worlds of many others. Thank you for all you have given and continue to give ❤️

Wow, this interview is so powerful in so many ways! Suleika, your Mother is so brilliant! Her touching descriptions and explanations of your experience together had me in tears. You both are so strong! To articulate your vulnerabilities with such wisdom and courage is truly inspiring! The creative process of painting and journaling you both turned to teaches us all to express, to experiment and it enlightens us to reach out to other possibilities for happiness and mental health. When I read your book, I read about your Mother and the 100 day challenge and her postcards and her studio so it is such a joy to see her actual work in real life! It’s also so beautiful to see your incredible relationship with her. I’m oozing admiration for both of you! And much gratitude to Carmen and Lentil for being such caring support! ❤️🙏🏼 Thank You for sharing! It has touched my heart as I know it will many others! Sending love and positivity to you each day!

What a treat! A glorious experience in which to awaken. And the privilege of having the time to listen to it NOW. Thank you for sharing what I imagine to be a “small” yet incredibly private, profound, and incredibly transformative experience of navigating life-threatening illness.

What makes your, and your mom’s, visual, auditory, and however else you name what you’ve created so powerful, is that it’s never prescriptive in their presentation. I can dip into it as much or as little as I’d like at any point in time, and I walk away and powered to find my own way to express myself, and the life through which I am navigating. I never walk away diminished in anyway.

Thank you. Much love to you all. And thank you Carmen for the gracious way you have of working; it is intelligent, loving, and adds to the presentation, whether it’s in the journals, or at the Hatch, or in moderating this wondrous conversation.

Dearest Suleika

I was fortunate to have witnessed this Mother/Daughter discussion in person with you, Anne and Carmen. It was a transformational experience then and, I have no doubt, it will be so again when I watch the video. Thank you for sharing it with us. Watching Lentil watching you that day was delightful. I am keen to see that again, too. ❤️😊❤️

Your discovery of how you and Ann shared your powerful essence, already vivid to your mother, is an extraordinary relationship. Your connection, like the sun speaking to the moon, has invigorated my own soul. I am so moved, (as a mother myself) illuminated and strengthened. Thank you for the celestial gift of this (teaching) joyous conversation. With gratefulness and love I thank you again and again. ♥️

Such a gift this morning to receive this amazing video. I had a class this morning on creativity and looking towards "planning" towards the future and after my class I watched your conversation facilitated with such love, care and grace by Carmen.

Suleika and Anne thank you for sharing your stories, your inspirations and the connections that bring life to art. Illustrating how the creative act (in all of its forms) are healing to our own souls first and foremost, and then the alchemy when shared in community and the world, as we are all have the opportunity to be co-creators whether through a physical act in community art, or as a reader, viewer or listener. In all instances that is the true gift of art which was beautifully illustrated through your conversation, that in itself was also a creative act. Anne, as a ceramic artist who also paints and writes, I appreciated your reflections on how you go from one form to another. A shout out to Lentil who was present in a most cheerful and comforting manner!

Finally, I appreciated how those of us who are not able to travel to the Art Yard (where I hope to visit someday) were able to experience the exhibit through this video. Now, I am off to my studio where I will "drop my phone in a box" and as of today "keep a studio journal nearby" to write down inspirations that come as I am creating with clay.

You know how God comes to me most often? In the sweet surprises, the unexpected lessons, the moments of raw vulnerability, the touch of JOY. I'll be watching this later but I already know what awaits me; MAGIC and LOVE.

Thank you for boosting me mid week, Suleika. As Linda said on Sunday, when I wake in the night, I pray. For my children, my family, my friends and my mentor in life, you. Love, always, Jacqueline
